According to news on February 27, according to statistics released by the Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) on the 26th, in January this year, Japan’s semiconductor equipment sales (three-month moving average including exports) were 315.512 billion yen, year-on-year. It increased by 5.2%, showing year-on-year growth for the first time in nearly eight months. Monthly sales exceeded the 300 billion yen mark for two consecutive months, setting a new high since April 2023 (333.9 billion yen), which is the same as in December 2023. It is worth mentioning that Tokyo Electronics, a major Japanese semiconductor equipment manufacturer, announced its financial report on February 9 and pointed out that due to the strong demand for semiconductor equipment from mainland Chinese customers and the investment in state-of-the-art DRAM equipment is expected to recover in the second half of this year, it will The global chip front-end process manufacturing equipment (Wafer Fab Equipment, WFE) market size in 2024 has been revised upward to approximately US$100 billion, close to the historical high in 2022, and is expected to see double-digit growth in 2025 (and compared to 2024). Tokyo Electronics originally estimated that the WFE market size would be US$200 billion in 2024~2025 (total value for both years).
