In the future, only some personnel in the team will continue to develop microLEDs, and the rest will be transferred to mass production facilities. AMS Osram recently received a notice from Apple asking to stop the project. AMS Osram issued a statement on the 28th of last month (local time) saying, "An important project related to Micro LED was unexpectedly canceled and management has decided to re-evaluate the company's Micro LED strategy." The company expects this to result in damage costs of between 600 million and 900 million euros, based on preliminary estimates.
